Signs of Canine Aggression
Canine Aggression is a form of communication, and your dog is trying to express himself. An aggressive dog will expose his teeth, narrow his eyes and tense his body. The canine will also growl, snarl, aggressively bark, and possibly snap his jaw. When he freezes his position standing with legs splayed and head low, the dog is preparing to attack.
Dogs communicate in a special and unique way, and these signs of canine aggression are how dogs express fear, anger, and jealousy. These messages are conveyed primarily through body language (though barks, growls and whimpers have distinct meanings).
For the protection of other animals, others around you, and yourself, it’s important to recognize what these signals mean. It is also vital to learn how to manage these behaviors. Training can solve the root problem behind canine aggression, and can prevent unneccesary harm before it happens. Is your dog showing signs of aggression? Let’s create a plan to relax your pet and arm you with the skills to manage his or her behaviors.
