I am Scottie Greene and furthering my education and knowledge on communicating with dogs has been my passion for over 30 years. While growing up, I can’t think of one moment that didn’t include a dog of some type. When I was 10 years old, I competed in my very first dog obedience trial. His name was Rusty; he was a Rottweiler and he was nearly as big as me! Winning first place hooked me.

Professional Dog Training

I served my country abroad and then returned home with the dream of working with dogs full time. Then, I used my GI bill to attend as many K9 seminars as I possibly could. I also attended the Tennessee Police academy out of my own pocket to fulfill my dream of being a police K9 Officer. Jonesborough Police Department hired me as a K9 officer, and K9 Rio was my partner.

After 7 years, I left Jonesborough Police Department after K9 Rio retired. Then, I began working in the private sector. I have contracted with top-notch cutting-edge companies whose mission is to fight terrorism globally. Plus, I worked alongside FEMA during national disasters. 

After working in the private sector for three years, I found myself back in K9 law enforcement. Greene County Sheriff’s Department hired me to start a new K9 division. I am very happy to say that all four dogs trained solely by me were rescues pulled from shelters all over the country. Additionally, I am proud to share that each dog passed all certifications with NADDA as dual-purpose police K9s. 

I left law enforcement after getting married and moving to Seymour. After which, I began working for a company that trains dogs. In my time with that company, I trained and maintained over 100 board and trains without a single issue from any clients. Also, I taught classes using my style of training at Sevierville City Park.

All of this has led me to work with Rocky Top K9, LLC in the Smoky Mountains. This dog training company in Sevierville allowed me to reconnect with my passion of training obedience. I’m not just a dog trainer who works with the dog; I’m a people trainer and my job is to train you how to train your dog.

I am proficient in the use of all training aids icluding the positive and balanced methods, and I will not try and make you like one form over another. I will explain both and let you decide. This gives my clients more control of the important tasks of training and bonding with their dogs.
